There is always a lot of umming, ahhing and beard deliberation when deciding on the Beard of the week. This week was no exception.
We finally came up with what we think is a pretty fine specimen. Two fine specimens actually.
Carlos Castillo (pictured above with his hirsute cousin Jorge) is the owner of the rather fantastic menswear label Man 1924. Brought to media attention by Scott Schumann of the Sartorialist, Carlos’ cult label is the place to go for casual chic menswear. But it’s more than just that. Man 1924 is very clearly defined by it’s owner’s distinct laid-back yet studied sense of style. Some may consider the never ending layers a tad too much, but we think it works just fine.
Described as J Crew with a Spanish twist, Man 1924 is expanding rapidly. There are already two shops; the original in Madrid and a second outpost in Bilbao. There are also rumours of a shop opening in London in the not too distant future. Until then, you have two options: easy jet or their fully functional website that offers international shipping – that will do do nicely, Sir.
